Early Stages classes at Stagecoach Somerset West are designed specifically for young children aged 4-7 years. For ninety minutes each week, young performers, shy individuals and enthusiastic charmers stretch their imaginations through song, dance and expression. Class sizes are restricted to 15, to enable each child to get the most from the skills learned.

Singing
Through singing, children find out where the voice comes from and how sound is formed in their bodies. They are shown how to modulate their voices and improve diction while learning fun and popular songs. They also discover the importance of timing and rhythm.

Dance
Dance helps children to improve balance and coordination, while also building strength. Children start to refine their motor skills through simple rhythm and straightforward dance moves. They find out how to express themselves freely and appropriately within a group.

Drama
Drama enables appropriate self-expression and offers children the freedom to stretch their imaginations. Children work as a group and begin to learn social skills which enable them to share and be thoughtful. As they grow and develop, children find it easier to express themselves physically and emotionally, thus boosting their confidence.
